Hiking from village to village in the Spanish Pyrenees has to be one of the most enjoyable walking adventures of the Old World. Still used for moving livestock from village to village and as walking trails, throughout the Pyrenees public right of ways are available for the avid hiker who wants a good mountain hike, but who is looking forward to a freshly made paella, a glass of wine, a warm shower and a comfortable bed at the end of the day.
Parc Nacional d'Aiguestortes
One of two of Spain's national parks which lie in the Spanish Pyrenees, Parc Nacional d'Aiguestortes is a spectacular example of how truly rugged the Pyrenees are. Be prepared for rain and snow-even in the late spring or early summer-but, don't miss the chance to hike here.
